The long road to IngwerTRINK.
Why our ginger-based drink is the way it is.
It all started with an ancient monastic recipe, a passion for the tremendous power of ginger and a big idea. We wanted to share our experiences with as many people as possible by creating a whole new kind of beverage – one that takes its inspiration from the knowledge passed down from a bygone age but that is also a perfect fit for modern life.
All the ingredients needed to satisfy our ideas and principles in terms of a conscious lifestyle. Organic. Fairly produced. Sustainable. And not because these ideas are in fashion, but because this is how we live our lives. So we started experimenting with ginger varieties and trying out recipes.
We worked by hand in our kitchen at home, learning new things all the time. We learned about ginger, from sprouting to harvesting, its use across centuries of human history and the latest scientific findings. We discovered the right way to peel the ginger root and how to keep it fresh without the need for preservatives.
Did you know, for example, that the bioactive substances contained within ginger are retained much more effectively when the ginger is carefully sliced rather than being pressed or puréed? This was just one of many stages on our long road to IngwerTRINK. Today, we are proud of what we have achieved: a ginger-based beverage that retains so many of the plant’s properties – and that still tastes absolutely delicious.
